The Unfinshed Room I was babysitting a dog. (My grandma hates leaving her alone.) But I was laying in bed when I thought I heard a noise. Obviously, the dog did too because she was doing this snort thing that she does whenever she hears something (she's a chihuahua). So she came out of the covers and went charging to the back door. I looked out there, but I didn't see anything and I locked the door. I went back to the bedroom and sat there thinking of what it may have been. I got a pen and paper and walked around the whole house turning on lights. First, I would turn on the bed room light, then mark it down on the paper. Then the hallway, kitchen, living room, tv room, up stairs hallway, bedroom, bathroom, bedroom, computer room; marking them all down on the paper. Then I went to the other hallway that led to the unfinished room. I turned on that light and marked it on the paper. I was a bit nervous to go into the unfinished room. I walked in there, turned on the light, then walked out. As soon as I walked out the attic ladder had come down. I looked up there but did not see anything], so I just closed it. I went back dowstairs into the bedroom. I waited about 10 minuttes until I heard a 'boom' upstairs. I went through the house with my paper and started hearing footsteps upstairs. I started walking slower. I went into the kitchen and the back door was open. I knew I had locked it, but could anything have gotten in? I closed it and locked it again. I went back upstairs to look at where I had heard the 'boom'. I wasn't scared at all. I see that the hallway light to the unfinished room is off. It's pitch dark. I started feeling the wall for the light switch when I bumped into something. I found the switch. The light was on and the steps to the attic were back down. I walked to the unfinished room and turned back on the light. There was a hole in the wall (it's always been there) and I looked inside of it. Something ran so fast across it and over near me around the corner that I had no clue what it was. I was still not scared; just fascinated. I walked out and the attic steps were down again, so I went up to the attic. As I'm walking around looking for the light bulb so I can pull the switch, I trip and the attic steps close up. Still, I was not scared. I found the light and turn it on. Some creature was standing on the door. It was small, but fat. It looked as though it had fangs, and it was red and brown. I saw it and started crying. He opened his mouth and a tongue fell out of it. Still, I was not scared, but I could not stop crying. I walked over to it. It moved and went running as fast as that thing I saw in the unfinshed room. I opened up the attic's door steps and walked down to find the dog. She was barking like crazy. Then I went downstairs and went back into the bedroom, turning off every light throughout the house. About two minutes later my grandparents were back. It really was a relief. I walked over to them and they asked, "So did you have fun?" I answered, "Absolutely!" She smiled. It has been about 3 weeks and I still get the chills when I'm here. I'm also babysitting the dog right now. It's daytime though, and all that I've been hearing is weird noises, but it doesn't bother me anymore. They hear them too when they're here (my grandparents,) but they think that it's just the squirells ... They'll never know what it really is. Tiffany from Woodstock 5/28/2007
