This sucks! It doesn't matter what country you're from, or what language you speak, some as*hole is there to run a scam by you or rip you off! My husband had his account hijacked, and Yahoo couldn't care less. So we both switched to Inbox.com. Inbox is fairly tough on spam, and when you first set up an account, EVERYTHING gets sent to your spam box, until we approve it. The best thing to do is change your password every three months, or sooner, and NEVER click an "opt out" link or respond to a spam message. If the spammers know they've found an active email account, they sell the information and email address with their fellow spammers, and Voila! You're suddenly buried under a ton of it! You should also change your screen name often. Inbox has an option to block and delete ALL incoming mail, except these that I personally approve. I've just switched to that one because a pair of persistent spammers have started sending me garbage mail. So, thank you, Mistress for sending this warning. I'll remember to NOT click any shortened URLs.
