Running through the cold, wet night, Nicolet Mitchell cried out in pain. She
quickly turned right and leaned against a wall trying to catch her breath. The
slight pain in her chest slowly fades, and she gently closes her eyes. Taking
hard, deep breaths she was unable to hear the very thing she was running so
hard away from. As she slowly opened her eyes, the creature attacked her and
everything had gone black.
One Week Later
"So far it has been a week since a young women has gone missing. Young Ms.
Nicolet Mitchell was last seen leaving her boyfriend's house late Tuesday
evening of last week."
The women on the television choked out softly, clearing her throat and fixed
the papers in her slender, wrinkled hands. Taking a deep breath, she began to
speak again.
"Young Nicolet Mitchell attends Raven High School as a Junior. She has dark
brown hair, brownish yellow eyes. Standing at about 5 foot 6 inches and
weighing about 136 pounds, Nicolet was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a
short sleeved black shirt, a black blue jean jacket and red and black Converse
tennis shoes."
She pauses again, clears her throat and patted her hair down. Her eyes
flickered for a moment, breathing slowly this time, before she began speaking
again.
"If you see or hear from the young Nicolet please call (569) 286-7285, or
contact the New York Police Department."
Once done, the women began to drone on about other things and the television
shut off suddenly. A young man sighed and threw the remote onto the small
coffee table in front of him. Running a hand through his hair, the young man
leaned back against the couch. He wore a short sleeved t-shirt and faded blue
jeans. His long blonde hair partially covered his face including his bright
blue eyes.
"Everyday, there is another missing person. Everyday there is another family in
pain…" He whispers trailing off slightly. Standing slowly, he fixed his shirt
and walked over to the heavy curtains covering the floor length window. Pulling
the curtains back by a slight flick of a hand, the sunlight poured into the
darkly lit room. Covering his face, he stared out the window as two women
wearing tracksuits fast walked by. He shook his head and forcefully pushed the
curtains back to their original resting place.
Running a hand through his hair again, he moved into the kitchen and looked
through the refrigerator. Sighing and shaking his head, he slammed the door
shut and grabbed his jacket from the back of the couch and ran out the door.
Without thinking, he left behind his cell phone. About 20 minutes after he
left, his phone began to ring. After a while, the phone quit ringing and went
to voicemail.
"Tristyn! Tristyn pick up the damn phone! Please man I need to talk to you!
Pick up the damn phone!"
A soft, frustrated sigh escaped from the deep voice on the other end of the
phone.
"Alright man, I get it. Please call me back when you can. Something happened
and I… I don't know what to do. Tristyn please call me back, I need help."
The voice sounded another sigh and a soft screaming also sounded and a rustling
began.
"Damn it! Sit down and please be quiet! Shit!" The voice abruptly cut off and
it was silent throughout the blonde man's apartment once more…
