Article Title:
==============

[Correction] When Is The Right Time

Article Description:
====================

At some point we want a different experience in life than what
we are currently experiencing. Changes and cycles are always
occurring. Some occur when we least expect them and some occur
sooner than we would like them to. Even though we are reluctant
to change, at some point a change will occur whether we make it
happen or it happens to us.

Inspire Possibility
http://www.inspirepossibility.com/

Last month in "The Dance" I shared with you that in some areas
of my life I consider myself a slow learner and dance was one of
those areas. It's being a beginner that I resist. Learning
something new usually takes so much energy and focus that
sometimes I'm just not up for it. Presently I'm becoming more
comfortable with the Salsa classes and I'm enjoying the process.
But I have to be honest, I'm also a little competitive. I have
been thinking about taking the intermediate class even though I
know I'm not ready. I have been thinking about the day when I
can experience a sense of freedom within the structure of the
dance.

When Annie informed me that she didn't find the beginner's
level challenging enough and was switching to the intermediate
level I started thinking about it more. Instead of going
together, we would be on different schedules.

So that's been on my mind and it has got me thinking about other
areas of my life. I realize that this thought process that I am
now experiencing in this little capsule of my life is similar to
the thought process that I experience in the rest of my life.

At some point we want a different experience in life than what we
are currently experiencing. Changes and cycles are always
occurring. Some occur when we least expect them and some occur
sooner than we would like them to. Even though we are reluctant
to change, at some point a change will occur whether we make it
happen or it happens to us. Think of the cycles of nature. As
life begins anew in spring, by summer nature is in full bloom.
The trees bear delicious fruit and in the fall the leaves start
to turn beautiful colors and fall to the ground. In the winter
the days are shorter and the trees barren. Perhaps it is in this
season when there is darkness that the internal changes, the
changes that we don't see, occur.

Think of your life for a second. What are you hanging onto? Is
there an aspect of your life in which you know you need to make a
change but are reluctant to do so? It might be an unsatisfying
relationship or a job or career that is exceedingly stressful and
unrewarding. Perhaps it's an opportunity you are avoiding
taking. How do you know when it's time to move on?

Perhaps by my sharing from my life you might be inspired to look
at yours in a new way. I think back to some of my past
relationships; in my last relationship prior to Annie it was
clear that we wanted different things from life. We had different
goals and a different vision. I was hoping that she would change
and she was hoping that I would change. As long as there was hope
I was willing to hang in there. And that's the way most of us
are. If we see a glimmer of hope we will hang in there. It was
only when it became painfully clear that things were not going to
change that I made the decision to end the relationship. This
wasn't an easy decision and was extremely painful. But it's the
fear of facing this pain that keeps us stuck in these unhealthy
relationships and life situations.

Careers are much the same way. We stay stuck in a deadend career
or unhealthy work situation because we are afraid of the
uncertainty we will be facing if we make a change. My own
decision was much the same way. For many years I felt stuck in my
career as an attorney. I was financially successful and had it
pretty good but I got to the point where I was bored and
uninspired. I was ready for a new direction, yet I didn't see a
way out. What could I do that would allow me to provide for my
family? I made the decision to let go of my law practice and to
embrace the "not knowing" what my next step would be. I am
still in that process as each day I look forward to the next step
on this journey called life. It's been seven years since I made
that decision and it keeps getting better. If we always knew what
was next much of the adventure and excitement of life would be
missing.

So you might be wondering what the answer is. Perhaps I have
given you a clue. There is power in not knowing. I usually ask
the many people whom I work with "what their biggest regret
was?" The majority reply that it was not taking enough risks.

As the well known philosopher Mark Twain stated:

"Twenty years from now you
will be more disappointed by the things you didn't
do than the ones you did.
So throw away the bowlines and sail away.
DREAM....EXPLORE....DISCOVER..."

There is power in being courageous and taking action. There is
power in sharing our story. Let me know what your next step is.
