Health and fitness go hand-in-hand. They are so intricately

to directly affect the other! Health implies a lifestyle which is
carried out in a balanced way and is aimed at leading a
disease-free life. Fitness refers to the state of your body and
mind  wherein both are stress-free and relaxed. Fitness is
directly reflected in the way you look-- your body shape and
size.

All of us dream of getting a beautiful figure. But often, due to
over-indulgence and a sudden increase in calories our body may 
bulge in some areas due to an over accumulation of fat. This
results in "cellulite" that is often stubborn and slow to react
to any kind of treatment.

Many believe that becoming slim will decrease their weight. It is
not true in all cases. Slimmer people can sometimes weigh more
than apparently larger people due to the weight of their bones.
On the other hand, even those who are on crash diets or other
forms of weight-reduction programs can show an increase in
weight. How and why does this happen?

The answer to this question is simple-when you follow severe diet
restrictions, your body is depleted of fluids and water too. But,
your body is smart and  it acts quickly to break down
carbohydrates from all parts of your body and protein from your
muscles and even replenishes some amount of water lost earlier.
This condition of your body is referred to as "water weight".
It is important to know real weight from  water weight.

The reason why water weight can be misleading is that it is not a
permanent condition of your body. It is just that your system
holds on to water and other fluids so that they are not
completely drained off especially when you are undergoing weight
loss rather rapidly.

Moreover, water retention happens in the cells that retain water
and other fluids to make good the loss caused by a sudden
decrease in your weight. So, don't be weighed down by your water
weight. Look for ways to enable your body to regain its normal
water balance.

 * Firstly, to tackle water weight, drink as much water and other
fluids as you can so that your body gets a free flow of liquids
and there is no need to collect them in some parts of your body.
Water loss and regain are continuous, automatic processes.

 * Next, minimize your salt and sodium intake as these contribute
to water retention in your body.

 * The most common treatment or supplements for combating water
weight are drugs called "diuretics". The function of these
drugs is to flush out water and other fluid content that is
retained by the cells and thereby remove that mysterious increase
in your weight!  These include chemical diuretic like potassium.
Also dandelion, in a dose of 10-20 drops of tincture helps in
flushing out excess water and fluids.

 * Intake of coffee, black tea, celery, etc. needs to be reduced
to avoid water retention in your body. Instead, you can include
watermelon, grapes, cucumber, and asparagus in your diet.

 * Dong quai consists of essential oils that relax your muscles,
intestines, and brain. Using essential oils like juniper,
rosemary, germanium, etc. in several applications like bath,
massage, inhalation, and vaporizers helps to regulate water
retention in your body.

Try to understand the amount of water your body is retaining, and
treat it in a suitable way. Don't get side-tracked by an
unexpected gain or stall in your weight loss program, as you
preserver that stubborn water weight will eventually leave.
