A clock is also a great gift idea for a loved one or a friend. We all need to know the time occasionally, and the gentle tick tock of a beautiful clock in a classic design can be very soothing in a quiet room. In this article I'm going to examine several of the many choices you can make when using clocks to decorate a room. You have a wide range of types to choose from when shopping for a clock. They will vary greatly in their price range too. Most clocks are designed purely for telling the time, but certain clocks are also designed with the avid collector in mind. Antique clocks are not all priceless and out of the price range of the average person. There are many affordable ones to choose from. If you like antiques in general, clocks can be a great enhancement to any room where other antiques are displayed. An antique clock is something you will be proud to hand down through your family. They are certain to become cherished items that will grow in value through time. There are many styles of clock to choose from. You can find desk clocks, mantel clocks and a wide variety of wall clocks. With such differing styles to choose from it's often difficult to pick just the right one for your home. If you have a fireplace, for example, a mantel clock would be a good choice. But first you would need to check if the clock is a good fit on your mantel, and whether or not it might be too large or look out of place in the room. Try looking at the clock from far away and then close up to see if it fits in with the rest of the decor in the room. It's important also that the clock blends in with the color scheme of the room. You therefore need to choose a clock that matches the room, and not the other way around. A unique wall clock is also a wonderful way to show off your style and taste. There are a multitude of wall clock styles to choose from. This should make it easier for you to find one that suits your taste. A formal style wall clock will add a touch of charm and elegance to your dining room or living room, and a brightly colored wall clock should fit in perfectly in the kitchen, or in your children's playroom, and add a splash of excitement and a touch of fun. Wall clocks have been around for hundreds of years and always bring a distinctive feel to any room. They have evolved into sensitive, accurate and highly reliable timepieces. If you looking for country charm or an abstract design you'll easily be able to find a wall clock that perfectly expresses your personality. Today we have clocks on our computers and other electronic devices, so we often forget that most traditional of all home furnishings, the humble clock. Whether it's a wall clock, or a mantel clock, or a collectible clock, or even an outdoor clock, it adds something special to the decor of our homes. Outdoor clocks come in a wide variety of sizes and color, and the available materials range from weather resistant metals, to natural wood, to glass and strong plastics. Not only do outdoor clocks bring beauty to your outdoor living spaces, but they also provide a variety of high tech functions. Many outdoor clocks have thermometers to measure the temperature and barometers to measure air pressure. An impressive feature of some outdoor clocks in their ability to automatically synchronize to the official U.S. time. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Written by: Maryann Larsen For more suggestions on decorating your home, please visit us at: http://www.The-Home-Furnishing-Store.com --- END ARTICLE --- Get HTML or TEXT Copy-and-Paste Versions Of This Article at: http://thePhantomWriters.com/free_content/db/l/clocks-to-enhance-your-decor.shtml#get_code .....................................
