Is Your Girlfriend Out Of Shape?
Copyright (c) 2007 Kathy Stafford, All Rights Reserved
Dear Kathy
http://www.dearkathy.com

There comes a point in most relationships when a guy realizes
that his girl is looking a little "fuller" than when they first
started going out. Now, despite all those wonderful things
you've heard about how important honesty in a relationship is,
that is not the case when it comes to weight. No woman ever wants
to hear that she's looking fat.

Before you open your mouth, you have to ask yourself if it's
that big a deal. You might decide that what's inside of her is
what you want to be with, and if she's a little heavy, that's
something that you can deal with. On the other hand, if you're
worried about her weight because you want her to be healthy,
that's something else entirely.

We live in a society that is obsessed with how people look –
especially women. Advertisements try to tell us that the ideal
woman weighs next to nothing and is as thin as a rail. On the
other hand, it might be that your girlfriend is a fine weight,
and that you need to accept her as she is. Then again, maybe she
has gained a little weight.

Take a look in the mirror. Are you packing around a couple of
extra pounds, too? It's only natural – especially if the two of
you go to the same restaurants and eat the same kinds of food. Of
course, you only happen to notice that it's your girlfriend who
has gained weight.

What if you have put on some extra weight? That's fine – because
now you can talk to your girlfriend and tell her that you want to
be in the best shape for her and you're going to have a
healthier lifestyle and you want her help in this. This is
perfect because she's going to see that you genuinely care about
how you look for her, and she'll want to do whatever it takes to
have you succeed.

If you decide on an exercise program, make sure that it's
something that you both like to do. You'll be more likely to
have success if the two of you don't even realize that you're
exercising. At the same time, you can make sure that you're
changing your eating habits, too. It doesn't have to be a major
change, either. You can work it in slowly and each little change
that you make will have an impact further down the road.

Just remember that you need to make sure that she doesn't get
her feelings hurt in any way while you're trying to get her to
lose weight. The two of you have a relationship that should go
deeper than mere appearances, and as long as you keep that first
and foremost in your mind, you should do fine.

As we said earlier, make sure that it's about you, however, and
not about her. She'll do whatever it takes to help you get into
good shape – and she'll never even notice the changes taking
place in her, but the odds are that you sure will.
