January is traditionally a month with a LOT of new online product
launches.

Some of the most successful product launched EVER in the Internet
marketing niche were in January ;-)

As I browse the emails asking me to be a part of dozens of
product launches this January, I see that this is going to be a
VERY busy month.

Lots of people had products ready back in November or December
2007, but assumed that the holidays would detract from their
sales, so they held off on the launches. Now, those people ALL
seem ready to proceed with their launches.

What that means to me is that the noise level is getting ready to
increase substantially. That means that it's probably going to
be harder to get your messages noticed... unless you do something
out of the ordinary. Your messages can't be buried in an inbox
with hundreds of other emails screaming at your prospects.

It also means (to me) that strategic alliances and cross
promotions are more important than ever. I believe that if you
have a launch planned, you should team up with others planning
launches, and then either stagger your launches... or offer one
product as a backend or upsell to the other. I think that's
better than going head-to-head in your prospects' inboxes. A
person overwhelmed with emails promoting everything under the
sun, all in the same day... or few days... will go into a
protective posture... much as the hedgehog does when the fox
attacks. He just rolls into a ball and does nothing until the
danger passes.

A person overwhelmed with emails, wisely decides to just shut it
all out until the noise level subsides enough to where they can
think clearly.

The thing that amazes me the most is how many people do projects
or product launches in total isolation. I fully understand really
focusing as you struggle to complete a project. I don't
understand not looking at what else is happening, in your
"marketing universe," as you prepare to launch a product
produced as a result of that concentrated effort.

The success of a major product launch DOES depend upon noticing
what else is going on around you. Operating in total isolation,
and refusing to even think that there are things which might
conflict with your launch is simply... "marketing suicide!"

I have been marketing online since late-1996. My success really
took off when I embraced the concept of working with my
competitors and doing more joint ventures.

If I had to identify the ONE success secret of most of the top
online marketers, I would have to say that it is in learning to
work with and leveraging the efforts of others.

"Lone wolves often starve!"

Doing a product launch in unison with others can be so EASY that
it feels effortless.

Let me share with you an example from my own recent
experience...

In September 2007, a question posed on The Internet Marketing
Warriors' discussion forum confirmed that there was demand for a
hype-free ebook on earning a living from the Internet. I turned
to members of The Internet Marketing Inner Circle and suggested
that we write and market such an ebook.

On October 8th, 2007, we launched "20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day
Online." That ebook was written by 18 authors with another 10
team-members handling editing, graphics, programming, etc.

Without a major product launch, and in the midst of what felt
like one continuous holiday season, that ebook sold nearly
$70,000 worth in the last three months of 2007... and it's still

If you dig below the surface of the "20 Ways" ebook launch,
you'll discover a group that really does understand how to
launch a product in a crowded, noisy marketplace. We embraced the
concept of leverage and a collaborative effort, rather than
competing head-to-head in a crowded inbox.

I submit to you that this is what you need to do if you have a
product launch planned in the next few weeks... or months.
Products like Jeff Walker's "Product Launch Formula" convinced
thousands that they could indeed do a product launch. The problem
is that they all seem to want to launch a product at the same
time... and in the same niche :-)

As already point out, The Internet Marketing Inner Circle (TIMIC)

proven formula. I'll even let you in on a little secret here...
Rob Toth, a member of TIMIC, recently suggested another group
project that members embraced. Rob suggested that we write an
ebook that shares 100 stories of how we made our first $100
online. The idea being to inspire,motivate, and show that those
making small fortunes online did indeed start by earning just
that first dollar. You can "sneak in" on that project if you
want to. You do need to be a member of TIMIC, you do need an
interesting story of how you ethically earned your first $100,
and you need to be FAST (since this project is already
underway).

Here's a reason that you might want to do that, and the real
power of getting involved in either of the two projects mentioned
above. The tens of thousands of eventual readers of those two
ebooks will read YOUR story (your credentials) and go check you
out. As they follow the trail to your site, if you lay it out
correctly, they will discover the new product that you recently
launched.

Do you see how easy is can be? You don't need to go head-to-head
with dozens of other major product launches. You don't need to
have one of those "flash-in-the-pan" launches, and then have
your product completely forgotten about next week. "20 Ways to
Make $100 Per Day Online" is still going strong after three
months, and it will still be going strong six months from now. As
you brace for the January 2008 "product launch barrage," and as
you contemplate you own upcoming product launch, hopefully I have
provided some food for thought.

The concepts that I've just shared with you are what some of the
biggest names in the direct marketing world understand only too
