Well, if she does, she'll have plenty of places to look to for inspiration for her perfect wedding flowers-including two brand new magazines aimed at helping brides choose the perfect arrangements to top off their wedding celebrations: The Bride & Bloom and Portovert magazines. Bride & Bloom has featured floral designs by a number of shops from around the country, including: * Elegance & Simplicity of Bethesda, Maryland. * Square Root Designs of Irvine, California. * Blooms Boutique of Elmhurst, New York. Carol Poon, who serves as Bride & Bloom's editor-in-chief, was once a florist herself, so she says she knows the business. She says of the magazine, "I wanted something that gives brides and wedding pros information on décor, especially focusing on flowers." The magazine's web site will feature an interactive tool that lets brides "click and drag" a variety of flowers from its floral library to create virtual bouquets, table settings, and centerpieces. Portovert magazine calls itself the "first and only magazine for eco-savvy brides and grooms." The magazine is designed to provide brides and grooms with environmentally friendly alternatives for every aspect of their wedding event, including gowns, invitations, and flowers. Portovert's editor Meghan Meyers calls the magazine a "responsible resource guide." The magazines website will be available to customers beginning in late January of 2007, but the first print edition will not be available until the fall of 2007. It will, of course, be printed on 100 percent recycled paper. Although both magazines are sure to provide good resources for floral design ideas, it will still be the florists who are charged with delivering gorgeous flowers perfect for the couple's wedding. The magazines can, however, provide a jumping off point for florists and couples to begin discussing flower choices. Magazines can be used to: * Choose types of flowers. * View different styles of design. * Pick colors and color combinations. * Decide what types of arrangements are needed.
