Flower Care For Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton undoubtedly has thousands of admirers and, with so
many admirers, she probably receives flowers on an almost daily
basis. Fortunately for Paris Hilton, flowers are really pretty
easy to care for. If Ms. Hilton-or you-can follow a few fairly
simple rules of thumb, fresh flowers delivered by your florist
can stay vibrant and beautiful for many days.

How you care for your floral arrangement will first depend on how
they are packaged for delivery. There are three basic ways in
which floral arrangements are usually created. Those are:

 * In a Container: Floral arrangements are often created in
containers that hold floral foam (that green, spongy stuff the
stems are poked into). If there's foam in your container, be
sure that you check the water level daily and keep it full. Your
flowers will probably come with a small package of floral food,
which you should use according to the directions on the package.
Finding a safe place to add water to your floral arrangement
without spilling it or ruining the arrangement can be tricky. To
find a good place, run your finger under the greens around the
lip of the container and look for an opening. Or, place a finger
inside the container while carefully pouring water directly into
the center of the arrangement. Your finger will help ensure you
don't overflow the container.

 * In a Vase: If your flowers are in a vase, it's important to
check the water every day to make sure it stays clear and fresh.
A cloudy or yellow appearance is a sign of bacteria in the water,
which can clog the stems making them unable to carry water to the
blossom. If you notice discolored water, carefully pour it out of
the vase and replace it with fresh water. Don’t forget to add the
floral food supplied by your florist to the fresh water as well.
It's also a good idea to cut a bit off the end of the stem with
a sharp knife and run the cut stems under warm water before
putting the flowers back into the vase.

 * In a Box or Wrapped in Tissue: Before you place flowers
delivered in a box or wrapped in tissue in a vase of water, be
sure to trim away any leaves that will be below the water line.
Then fill a sink with warm water and, holding the stems under
water, trim them with a sharp knife. Fill the vase with warm
water mixed with floral food, and immediately place the trimmed
flowers into the vase.

Regardless of the type of flowers you receive or how they are
packaged, avoid placing them in areas exposed to heat, direct
sunlight, or cold drafts. Do not place your flowers on top of
appliances, such as televisions, that generate heat.

Even if Paris Hilton is receiving flowers every day and filling
her home with them, she can keep them fresh and beautiful by just
spending a few moments to ensure they're watered properly and
placed in the best possible area-and you can, too!
