MySpace.com has become one of the hottest trends among teenagers.
It's a great way for teens to share their ideas, hobbies, and
feelings with others. But, if you're looking for a way to
connect with your teen that doesn't involve a keyboard and
screen, try giving her flowers to brighten up her own personal
space.

Teenagers, just like adults, love to feel special and be
recognized for their special achievements. And, at a time in life
when so many things are changing and confidence can be at an
all-time low, they especially like to be reminded of how much
they are loved and that they are important to you. What better
way to express all of those things than with a gift of flowers?

There are a number of occasions you could send flowers for as
well as many ways in which you can personalize the gift to your
teenager's likes and interests. To get you started thinking
about how you can help your teenager brighten up her room with
beautiful flowers that remind her every day of how much you love
her and how proud you are to be her parent, here are a few
ideas:

 * Send flowers when she makes a team she's tried out for. If
she's tried out for cheerleading, send her an arrangement in the
team's colors with a mini-megaphone or pennant tucked in as an
accessory. Or, if she's tried out for the track team, tuck in a
pair of baby-sized athletic shoes. You might even tuck in a gift
certificate to a shoe store so that she can purchase some new
running shoes.

 * Send flowers when she's completed a particularly difficult
project, such as a lengthy term paper or science project. As an
extra reward, include a small gift, like a CD or book.

 * When she's tried out for a team and didn't quite make the
grade, let her know she's still number one in your book. Send
her flowers with a note that expresses your understanding of her
disappointment, but that you're still very proud of her effort.

 * Let her know you love her after a break up with a boyfriend or
friend. Teenage emotions are awfully fragile and that first
boyfriend-girlfriend break up can be really hard. Let her know
that you understand and that you will always love her with a gift
of flowers. As an added benefit, flowers have been scientifically
proven to boost happiness, so you just might cheer her up as
well.

Expressing your love and pride can really help you to connect
with your teenager. And, I'm pretty sure that ordering flowers
is a whole lot easier than setting up your own page on
MySpace.com!
