Olsen Twins Were Born With Devoted Affection...And Their Birth Flower Proves It

Article Description:
====================

The deep connection the Olsen Twins share for one another is no
secret to anyone who has paid any attention to their lives as
they've grown up. Perhaps that devotion should come as no secret
considering they were born in the month of June, the month of
the honeysuckle flower, which stands for devoted affection.

The deep connection the Olsen Twins share for one another is no
secret to anyone who has paid any attention to their lives as
they've grown up. Perhaps that devotion should come as no secret
considering they were born in the month of June, the month of the
honeysuckle flower, which stands for devoted affection.

The honeysuckle comes in more than 180 varieties, some of them
shrubs, others vines-some evergreen and others deciduous. They
are hard, tolerate heat well, and are almost impossible to kill.
They yield beautiful bell-shaped flowers with an enchanting sweet
scent. Because of their bright colors and lovely smell, they are
often grown in gardens designed to attract hummingbirds and
butterflies. As an added benefit, their fruit will also provide a
food source that attracts songbirds in the fall.

Honeysuckle is most often grown as an ornamental plant to climb
trellises, porch rails, and fences. They also make excellent
ground cover and can be used in sloping areas to prevent erosion.
However, you should not plant the Hall's Honeysuckle variety
around shrubbery and trees because it may overtake them by
climbing and strangling them.

Regardless of the variety of honeysuckle you choose, it's best
to plant it just as spring begins, but after the threat of frost
has passed. They should be placed at least two feet away from
each other to provide appropriate room for growth. Remember, they
will spread. Immediately after planting, give them plenty of
water and keep doing so until it's apparent they've taken hold
and begun to grow. After that, you won't need to water them as
often unless the weather happens to be extremely dry. If your
plants have grown a bit larger than you'd like, wait until
they've finished flowering before trimming the back-but don't
trim them excessively in the first two years after planting.

If you're growing honeysuckle as a vine to climb your trellis or
other structure, place it between six and twelve inches from the
structure. As it grows, you'll need to provide support for the
stems by binding them lightly to the frame-stretchy nylon, such
as discarded stockings, work great for this purpose. Don't tie
them too tightly as you can damage the stems.

Although honeysuckle is a very easy plant to grow and maintain,
if you should encounter any problems or questions, don't
hesitate to call your florist who is likely to have a plethora of
information on caring for this or any other plant.
