If that's the case, she needn't worry that her home in sunny California will be lacking a white Christmas. Even if there's no snow outside, she can bring a touch of white inside with gorgeous white Christmas arrangements. Or, if she prefers a bright and cheerful look, she can choose festive reds and hearty greens. Rebecca Cole, of the Discovery Channel's Surprise by Design, says that this year's Christmas party decorating trends will be elegant, but still fun. "If you don't have a white Christmas on the outside, bring it inside, with big bunches of anemones or other white flowers," she said. To help brighten up your Christmas tables for a holiday event held at any time of the day-dinner, brunch, or an evening cocktail party-Cole suggests using these tips: * Poinsettias are now available as cut flowers and look great in centerpiece arrangements. They also come in many different colors other than the commonly seen red, such as pink, white, peach, and speckled. * Use colors that mimic the sunrise to decorate your brunch table. Choose oranges, yellows, and reds and ask your florist to arrange them in containers. You may bring your own containers or choose from those available from your florist. You might even want to use something non-traditional, like champagne flutes. * Make place card holders from small Christmas ornaments or other holiday containers filled with flowers. * For an elegant touch, choose white and silver as the color scheme. * For dinner parties with a sensuous, lush feel, ask your florist to make centerpieces using robust purple and burgundy. Even if Pamela Anderson doesn't plan to host her own Christmas party this year, she'll have need of her florist to bring great gifts to the hosts and hostesses of the parties she attends. In fact, Cole suggests that partygoers who really want to make an impression send an arrangement even before they arrive. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Wesley Berry is member of the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) and President of Wesley Berry Flowers, a successful multi-million dollar floral business that was established in 1946.
