Choosing The Right Dinnerware
Copyright (c) 2009 Beth Mark
Made In America Decor

Have you ever gone to a store to find the "right" dinnerware to
find out that there are some absolutely gorgeous patterns
available, but they are so limited in the choice of more than
dinner plate, luncheon plate, and maybe a soup bowl? Oh, yes,
let's not forget the ubiquitous coffee cup and saucer too?
Occasionally the choice is stretched as far as it can go, and
there's maybe a serving platter or matching salt and
peppershakers thrown in. If you cook at home, you know that these
paltry few pieces do not make dinnerware. You will end up having
to purchase items that do not match, creating an undesirable
hodgepodge appearance on your dining table.

The majority of Americans like the casual styles, more of a
"homespun" variety, having simple colors, patterns and designs.
They adamantly require that dinnerware needs to not only be
microwave and dishwasher safe, but they also demand that it be
ovenproof, as well as guaranteed to be 100% lead free. Americans
learned well with the cookware that was leaching lead into the
bodies of young children, the middle aged, as well as our senior
population. For instance, years ago, one American family suffered
acute lead poisoning by serving and drinking orange juice that
had been innocently stored in a ceramic pitcher from Mexico. Our
American manufacturer uses a lead-free paint and dyes always
keeping in mind the stringent safety purposes of American
dinnerware laws and regulations.

Lately it is said that a family that eats together on a regular
basis will be a much stronger unit than those who are controlled
by alternating schedules and unfortunately can barely find time
to be together. These studies indicate that by simply sharing a
meal together those families will learn how to communicate on a
deeper level. Most families will discuss what they have been
experiencing throughout the day and possibly even work out issues
to be faced as a unit during mealtime. When that family uses
casual dinnerware sets on a regular basis, then a routine is
created that will generate something that your family will come
to expect. Therefore, when choosing a dinnerware set, you need to
select enough pieces for every member of the family as well as
several extras. This is partly the reason why our pieces are sold
separately. Selecting a dinnerware set that has extra pieces will
ensure that should a piece break replacement will be easy, as
well as having enough dinnerware to serve your guests. Be
especially sure to look at our baby safe dishes!

The choice of any design, even in dinnerware sets, is the
reflection of a person's taste. Many find that having an entire
dinnerware set that includes a myriad of pieces is a fun way to
be practical. Tableware design may range from being classical or
perhaps fashionable. Some desire a tableware design that is
sophisticated or romantic, others formal or casual. The design we
choose will definitely say something about the class of people we
are and therefore needs to reflect the way we live our lives and
also of course harmonize with other things we treasure enough to
have in our homes.

The greater majority of dinnerware dishes come in round shapes
however there sometimes are oval shaped service dishes combined
with the round shapes of the dinnerware. The different sizes are
made available to create a new look. Some dinnerware sets will
infuse warm tones and feature contemporary patterns. The
"back-to-nature" shades with so many abundant uses of flowers
will receive vast attention such as yellow, beige, blue, orange
and of course green. Amongst the latest styles are the softly
flared rims that have asymmetrical edges, along with plain dishes
that may feature lines, dots and swirls. These are all carefully
designed and hand painted versions!

Understandably too, accompaniments to the dinnerware that all
match the exact same hand painted theme such as kitchen clocks,
napkin holders as well as bakeware, trivets, spoon rests, serving
bowls, cheese shakers, cookie jars, juice and iced tea pitchers,
coasters, bouquet and bud vases, tea kettles, and even kitchen
lamps attract your guest's complete attention.

It is said that one can easily test for quality in a dinnerware
set. For example the glaze on any piece should be unblemished and
without tiny cracks, pinholes or bubbles. If you pick up one of
our cups, it is well designed and made in such a way as to be
balanced easily in your hand, and finally it can stand securely
when placed on the saucer. Cups have their weakest points where
the body of the cup meets the handle. Our cups will show that the
joined area will not have the tiniest of faults. The lids made
for any of our dinnerware, such as teapots, fit correctly and are
not loose as many cheap sets feature.

Our sets are created with continuity in mind, as there are 40
different pieces in each set. Presenting the right casual
dinnerware set is one of the understandably important aspects of
family mealtime. As humans, dining together has become one of the
most important variety of entertainment. Whether you are
featuring a large holiday fête with your family, or if you are
enjoying a unique evening with your closest friends, dining has
become a way to share extraordinary.

Actually, the same can hold true for your everyday meal. You will
certainly agree that it is still an excellent idea to be sure
that your family meal is thought of as an out-of-the-ordinary
time. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to own
dinnerware sets that are not only beautiful but decorative as
well.
