Title: Out of Control Author: Caliadragon
Category: AU/Crossover Fandoms: Buffy/Anita Blake Spoilers: Up to the current seasons. Unfortunately, I haven't seen many of this season's Angel. All of the ABVH books. Pairings: Xander/Nathaniel, Spike/Angel and others. AN: Buffy, Willow and Faith all died fighting the First. Giles has adopted Dawn and moved to England with her. Cordy and Fred also died in the battle. Spike couldn't stay in Sunnydale and went back to his Sire. Xander and Spike have made peace. Anya and Andrew are living with Angel and Spike in the hotel. Angel being cursed and the whole sending the world to hell thing never happened. The Triumvirate has settled their problems and Asher has taken Larry as his human servant and lover. Mussette has not come to town. I haven't read Cerelun Sins so it won't factor into this story. The Buffyverse won't play a major part in this story. Oz now lives in St.Louis and is part of the Pack. Everyone knows about vamps. Buffy worked for the Watchers who were an opposing group of the Vampire Council. When vamps were made legal it changed and Buffy only hunted vampires that had been corrupted by the Hellmouth. AN2: I have read Cerelun Sins by now and I realized that I have been using aspects of it that I heard before I read it. OOPS! Lol! Summary: Xander has given up on everything and everyone in Sunnydale. He travels to say goodbye to everyone he knew and to find Oz to tell him about Willow. Thanks as always to Edi for the beta. This is for everyone who has supported me in my writing and puts up with my being a WIP wonder. Previous Parts Can be read here: http://brain-insane.com/beyond/viewstory.php?sid=174 Chapter 8: Revenge or Justice Xander lay still for a long time after dropping the bombshell about what he had helped Willow do. None of them were sure how to respond or even what they would do. Finally, Xander sat up and climbed off the bed. He slowly and methodically dressed himself, using magic. Oz felt something akin to panic take shape inside of him. Xander had the same look on his face that he'd had the day he swore to kill anyone and everyone responsible for Willows kidnapping when they were in the senior year of highschool. What he did to the vampires and the three demons responsible was nothing short of carnage. The sheer depth of violence that lived inside of Xander had caused all of them to be afraid to get in Xanders way; the force of his rage had stunned even Buffy, who had no qualms about fighting. Xander was once again wearing that look on his face and he was being quiet, too quiet. Xander? Oz asked softly. Im going to kill them, Xander told him matter-of-factly. Oz cringed; this was what he had feared. Xander already hated the Council, in fact, he had wanted to kill Travers long before Buffy had thrown them out of her life, but now he would kill them for what they had done to Cordelia. You cant do that, Xander, Oz protested. Xander smiled at him and Oz felt all of the color fade from his face. Of course I can, Xander told him sweetly. No you cant. I know they deserve to pay for what they did to Cordy, but you cant go down this path. Think of Dawn and the others, theyve already lost so much, they cant lose you as well. I cant lose you! Please, Xander, well think of some way to punish them, but please dont do this. Oz pleaded desperately. The others all held their breath and waited to see if it would stop Xander from losing control. Xander looked at his friend, a man who never spoke this much, and one that never begged for anything. Xander could see the fear in Ozs eyes, fear of him and what he planned to do to the Council. Xander closed his eyes, he didnt want to see that fear, didnt want it to sway him away from his plans for revenge, but the look had already changed his mind. Xanders shoulders began to shake and a howl of anguish ripped from his throat. As he collapsed, Oz caught him in his arms. The two boys sank to the floor and Oz held Xander as he wept out his pain and rage. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Two days later Angel and Spike shared a look between them, Dawn was crying and Giles was pacing back and forth. All of them were shattered by what they had learned. As soon as the sun set they were all going to go and find the resting places of all of their dead and use a potion that Wesley had come up with to dissolve the bodies of their family so that none of them could ever be raised. It was hard to believe that this had happened and the two vampires were already in negotiations with Jean-Claude to take their family to see Xander. He had told them he had something important to tell them. Jean-Claude was being surprisingly gracious in his demands. Both of the vampires were worried about Xander and Oz living in Jean-Claudes territory, but neither of them believed that the two young men were in danger from Jean-Claude. The rest of the Council, perhaps, but not Jean-Claude, who they had had dealings with in the past. During the years that Jean-Claude, Asher, and Julianne had traveled alone, they had come across the Scourge; the seven vampires had helped each other out when human hunters had tried to kill them. Dru had tried to warn all of them about what would befall the trio, but unfortunately, no one had listened. It wasnt until years later that Spike and Angel had learned about what had happened to Asher and Julianne and that Asher had sworn death and vengeance upon his one time lover. Dru had mourned Ashers human servant for many years and had made a special point to feed on as many priests as possible to try to ease Juliannes sprit. At least that is what she told Spike and Angel. Spike and Angel shared a look; they still had friends in Europe. Friends who owed the two vampires many favors, it was time they collected. Travers would die; it was only the matter of a phone call.
