Hi all,

The discussion on the list so far has been good and I
don't want to disrupt that by moving the focus to
process nor by trying to rush things if more time is
what's needed.

However, if there is a desire for a (non-wg-forming,
he reiterated:-) BoF in Paris, then you need to start
to think about what such a meeting might aim to achieve,
and I'd like to see the list (attempting to) make
progress towards whatever those goals might be.

Generically, the possible goals of such a meeting might
be to figure out if there's work here that's relevant
to the IETF, if that work is sufficiently mature, if
there's a feeling that some well-scoped parts of that
work could be chartered in future or might fit in
some existing working group's charter, if there is
sufficient energy behind the work that it'd likely
carry through to produce results, etc, etc.

It'd also help if there were some Internet-drafts for
the IETF community to read, since that's what we're
used to reading, are more liable to notice and to
which more attention is likely to be paid.

So, those of you that would like such a meeting, please
try get things moving in that direction. If you think
such a meeting would be counterproductive or premature
then say that too, but please do say why.

BoF proposals need to be made before Feb 13 and will
be decided on a couple of weeks later, so there's about
three weeks or so to get things in good enough shape
to warrant having a meeting.

Thanks,
Stephen.

PS: There are probably some on this list for whom all
this process stuff is new. RFC 5434 may help, although
that is more focused on BoF's that do aim to form a WG
and we're not there at this point.
