OK - I found the problem with this. I added points with Xtherion and the entry in the file was: point x y station -name 5 and that doesn't work. Maybe I pushed the wrong buttons - but certainly this could catch out other new users - it looks convincing, only a conmparison with an example file (below) showed me the problem. > > then survey data specifying station 5 gvies an erro 'object exists -- 5' > > Change one (e.g. to '05') and data compiles but then says 'projection > > extended - no reference station' - how is this made to work? > This should not happen. I've tested following code s.th: > survey s > data > data cartesian from to dx dy dz > 0 1 10 10 10 > enddata > scrap ss > point 0 0 station -station 0 > point 1 1 station -station 1 > endscrap > map mm > ss > endmap > endsurvey > with simple thconfig: > source s.th > export map > and it worked on my therion (OK, thpdf had some protests, because wall was > missing - I've to fix this, but it worked). OK. This worked - hooray, I finally produced a map! So then I went to fix my 'real' cave example. Fixing the above station problem was the first thing, then I realised that I couldn't have a scrap name the same as a survey name. (I called the scrap 'doline' as well as the survey 'doline' - that didn't work) And finally I had to give scrap at survey syntax to get it recognised. I've added a few notes on this to ch04.tex (not sure if tha'ts really the right place but I thought it a good idea to have a remonder of these things). So now it processes as far as trying to produce a PDF but it just gets stuck on 98% CPU (I left it for 5 hours and this is a one-survey, one-scrap map, but it never completed). Attached are the relevant files (but not the images)- does it work for you? Maybe this is fixed by the new download - I have downloaded it but these tests were at the weekend.
