Martin Sluka helped me to find out more exact when the patch is needed. Mac OX X 10.5.7 i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465) works with the current source tree. Mac OS X 10.7.2 gcc version 4.2.1 (Based on Apple Inc. build 5658) (LLVM build 2335.15.00) needs my patch. Without the patch on 10.7 I see a conflicting definition of getline: In file included from loch/lxFile.cxx:13: loch/getline.h:27: error: declaration of C function 'int getline(char**, size_t*, FILE*)' conflicts with /usr/include/stdio.h:449: error: previous declaration 'ssize_t getline(char**, size_t*, FILE*)' here loch/getline.h:30: error: declaration of C function 'int getdelim(char**, size_t*, int, FILE*)' conflicts with /usr/include/stdio.h:448: error: previous declaration 'ssize_t getdelim(char**, size_t*, int, FILE*)' here make: *** [extern/lxFile.o] Error 1 I guess this it the Problem.
