With the addition of a third draughtsperson to our project, whose name comes early in the alphabet, and who has clearly drawn much less than us two oldies, it's become apparent that 5.3.11 sorts cartographers names alphabetically rather than by length of centreline associated with their drawings.
Not sure if this was the case with 5.3.10, but certainly the default sort order for explo-length and topo-length changed with 5.3.11 as described here http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/faq#why_do_peoples_names_sort_alphabe tically_when_they_used_to_sort_by_length_of_cave_explored_and_surveyed To make matters worse, I thought I would display only the 'top 2' draughtspeople, statistics carto 2 and it dumped my name because it is alphabetically towards the end of the alphabet, despite having drawn most of the cave (well maybe second most, but at least 100x more length than the newcomer). I may have a bias due to conflict of interest, but it seems like an unsatisfactory situation to me that the 'top two' cartographers is based on alphabetical rank rather than drawing rank. Is it possible to make the carto statistics syntax and behaviour consistent with explo and topo statistics in 5.3.12? A sample layout of mine below shows how they all work together, and how what I am requesting might fit in. layout LayoutStatisticsNormal #----------------------- statistics explo all # all/off/number # names of explorers, or 'number' most significant explorers statistics explo-length hide # on/off/hide # adds each persons exploration length and toggles sort type statistics topo all # all/off/number # names of survey team members statistics topo-length hide # on/off/hide # adds each persons survey length and toggles sort type statistics carto all # all/off/number # names of authors statistics carto -length hide # on/off/hide # request to add each persons carto length and toggle sort type statistics copyright all # all/off/number # names of copyrights endlayout LayoutStatisticsNormal Bruce -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
