Hi,
the problem is in a global "linecap := butt;" setting in the point
mudcrack symbol (added on December 6) which changes the appearance
of
the line endings (the dot is a zero-length line which used to be
drawn
with a round pen). A thorough revision of newly added symbols is
necessary before the next stable release.

OK, it’s not ‘just’ a Therion issue.
Here is the same 5.4.4+19eb624 (2019-12-09) output viewed with
Foxit on the left, and Sumatra on the right.
If we go back in Therion versions, there is some point where both
pdf viewers plot the dots correctly (5.4.4+00a31d0 (2019-10-22) at
is OK I think). My previous message shows shots from Foxit (I
think). Now I have realised this I will need to start narrowing it
down again.

map-connection is empty
Yes, with Therion version 5.4.4+4d5750d (2019-12-17) even my
customised point map-connection is affected. The dot is missing.
In another project, my area sand is looking a bit weird (short
dashes, not dots).
If I revert to 5.4.4+00a31d0 (2019-10-22) (and remove maps-set and
log extend from my thconfigs) then the short dashes have rounded
dot-like appearance, as I believe they should.
And my map connection gets better.

Subject: [Therion] Problem with dots in symbols: map-connection is
empty
Hi there,
we noticed some problems with dots in symbols yesterday, the won't
show anymore.
I can reproduce this with therion 5.4.4+19eb624 (2019-12-09).
The problem exists with the default symbol for "point
map-connection", as well as with my custom layout code for clay:
Has something changed recently in the point definition?
I assume, because the default map-connection item should still
work but doesn't show points?
With best regards,
Beni
