That's great Roger (so thanks for doing that), but I wonder if you are aware of 'caveconverter' which already does compass to Survex amongst a selection of other formats (survex, and toporobot out, compass, survex, pockettopo and DXF in). http://wscc.darkgem.com/caveconverter/ It is also java, and it's really better to have one versatile converter than lots of separate ones, so I don't know if I could persuade you to take a look and see if you can merge your code into caveconverter because 'therion output' is the main thing it is missing and you've done that? This may be too much like hard work, but I feel the caving world would benefit if it was done, and it may actually be quite easy.
