Howdy everyone. Its been quite some time since I've
posted. Recently, I've been in one of those fits where
I choose a slip album/show over my other tunes. I've
found that they help the winter blues quite often.
Last night, I was listening to Alsoa from the latest
Japan shows in Jan 2002. Wow...UA's presence is very
strong and captivating. I've always loved that version
because to me, its proof that music can transcend
cultures/languages to touch those who listen. The
guest on sax is also a treat.

So I saw the Bowery and Paradise shows in late
December. Before that, the last time I saw the fellas
was at Berkfest...Only caught the side stage set.
Therefore, I was looking forward to seeing the Bowery
show, especially since JBB was opening.

Personal highlights included the Marley cover "pass it
on" as well as If One of Us Should fall for the
encore. Also covered were Van Morrison's 'sweet thing'
and Nathan Moore's 'before you were born'. All three
were new for me and a quality treat.

Another memory sticks out during an improv
section(can't seem to remember the song now). Brad
decides to climb the ladder on stage that leads up to
the monitor soundboard. Marc is totally clueless as
he's zoned in on a groove. Then Andrew decides to
climb up the ladder to beat a rhythm over Brad's
pickups. Meanwhile Brad is fingering chords and muting
when Marc finally turns around, looks up, and creates
a facial expression that said it all. Craziness...

Paradise was a jolly good time. I met Nick...aka
Phrazz while he was making rounds in the venue
snapping pics for his site. By the way, much thanks
for your time involved with the site. Its a great
resource. Unfortunately, I missed the first set but
was treated to a nice mix of Spice Groove as well
You'll find a home. The horns were incredible. I'm
looking forward to the circulation of this one. Could
a tour with horns be possible?

Well, much love to you all,
Brian
