Firstly, sorry about the cross post. My waste of bandwidth tax is the fact
that I've been the only source for a concert on everyone of these lists. I
also apologize if you get this more than once. I have put you all in the
bcc field so your name will not be had by spammers.

As some of you may have known, I used to be a cook/chef. In the years that
I had those jobs, I had the opportunity to see, touch, taste, and smell a
variety of organic foods because of the nature of the restaurants I worked
in. Many of the farmers that grew these items hand delivered them to our
doors, and it was always a pleasure to see what new treats they had in store
for us.

While the farmers that grow or raise these products have a more difficult
time than those using chemicals, the quality of the products they develop
are far superior to anything in your neighborhood grocery store. What they
do isn't just about the bottom dollar from making things grow faster,
bigger, brighter and juicier, but also about a love of what they are growing
and the people who will consume their products.

"As the $400 billion Federal Appropriations bill was being finalized in
February, an anti-organic rider was snuck into the bill and signed into law
by President Bush on February 20th. Consumers, environmentalists and the
organic industry are now working together to repeal this special interest
provision, restore the integrity of the organic standards, and secure the
public's trust in the organic seal. Help us pass the "Organic Restoration
Act - S.457". "

The organic standards are currently quite strict, and it takes a lot to be
certified "Organic." If this bill passes, as an example, organic dairy
animals could be fed non-organic feed. That doesn't really seem right does
it?

I know some of you might not care much about organic food, and some might
just consider it overpriced. I myself, as a supporter of organic food,
can't afford to buy all the organic foods I'd like too. However, that
option needs to be secured for those who choose it, and those who can afford
it.

Organic Valley, a terrific organic dairy farm has made things as simple as
could be for you to help insure that the organic standards will be
unaltered. Please take a minute and visit http://action.organicvalley.com/
to find out more, and have a letter sent to your state representatives on
your behalf.

Thank you,
Bill Burge
