THE SLIP is: Brad Barr {guitar, vocals} . Andrew
Barr {drums} . Marc Friedman {bass}

There is a universal aspect to music, something
that the great pianist Bill Evans has called a 'universal
mind,' the part of a person's psyche that is open and
willing to take things in without prejudice, without their
own learned cultural applications. The Slip is a band that
is constantly working to achieve a universal sound - a sound
that can't be defined in any specific genre, culture or
label.

The Slip are dynamic improvisers, with a concise
and focused song structure and innate sense of rhythm and
melody. Their music is expressive, hard-hitting and
unpretentious. While their roots are in rock, jazz, and
world rhythms, at their core is a band that has the rare
ability to take a song to the edge of chaos and back,
landing gracefully and effortlessly. They incorporate a
unique and creative approach to their music - at times the
bass or drums may take the melody, the guitar could take on
the role of percussion - an approach that allows these three
musicians to lock together into a groove in a completely
organic and telepathic way. "I feel that we're more a modern
representation of roots music," says Marc Friedman, bass
player for The Slip.

"The only thing we want to do is play music, be
on stage, watch people dance to it and enjoy it and go home
feeling better and I think that's what's really gotten us
here" says Brad Barr [guitarist]. "The determination and
knowledge that there's really nothing else in the world
we're better suited to do."

The Slip | Angels Come On Time
On July 9th, 2002, The Slip released their
highly anticipated third studio album, Angels Come On Time.
Produced by The Slip, the result is the band's most cohesive
and engaging record to date. It not only captures the
energy, spontaneity, and experimentation of a live show -
but also showcases the band's songwriting ability and
expressive, intelligent lyrics.
