I disagree Ron. The original was a quaint story about geeks fulfilling a last wish for a friend. Folks 'in the industry' saw it and said it was great and wanted to be in it (Kevin Smith) and then they got more cash to add additional footage and effects, then they test screened it cut 2 ways with the ill friend and without the ill friend and got mixed outcomes so i believe that they were deciding which cut to use.
