The only problem with your assessment of the timeslot is that this is the exact same timeslot that the morons at Fox put Firefly in... we all know how that turned out. The original intent was for Dollhouse to follow 24 which, though not exactly the same genre, is a WAY better lead in than the directionless Terminator series.
