1 = The 2008 Doctor Who Christmas special is entitled, "The Next Doctor" (title revealed back in September) 1 = David Morrissey is playing a character in the 2008 X-Mas special called The Doctor - a man who believes himself to be a Time Lord (revealed back in September) 1 = David Tennant announces he's leaving the series at the end of the 2009 specials. (revealed October 29) 1+1+1 = David Morrissey will take over as the Doctor at the end of the 2009 specials? Maybe? Probably not is my guess. The BBC typically likes to keep the new Doctor's identity a secret as long as possible. But who knows.
