So far the story is great. If you can get past the bad southern
accents (which can only improve over time right?), the show is a
hoot. Controversy, gore, a whole bunch of who dun it, lots of SEX,
and now SHAPESHIFTERS!!!! I was so tickled when we see Sam
demonstrate his ability, I let out a sqeak that startled my cat. So
it's not just your run of the mill Vampire show. And for a second
there I thought maybe this isn't going in the right direction with the
cliche voodoo style exorcism in the backyard swamps of nowhere
Louisiana...but alas Miss Joana is a fraud (for $799.98 you can get
that demon out too!). But the Vampires are fascinating, the whole
underworld hierarchy system with laws, mores, and taboos....which
extends much further than anyone can imagine. Adding Shapeshifters
just makes it oh sooooo juicy...and with two episodes left, I suspect
a hell of a cliffhanger!
