And I think you hit the nail on the head about why people would have such an
issue with this.  There would be an uproar over an African-American woman being
cast in the role of Wonder Woman and quite frankly I don't think most of the
people who would have a problem would be bigots or racists.  The character has
a nearly seventy year history of being white and there would be some serious
opposition if the casting went another way.  Is that right?  I really don't
know.  I mean I don't give a rip what your skin color is or what God you
worship or who you want to spend the bed time lovin' with and my knee jerk
reaction is that you should stick to what is on the page because if the roles
were reversed and they wanted to cast a white actress to play Storm there would
be an uproar.  I think such a thing works both ways.

Can you cast against type?  Sure, Michael Clarke Duncan made a great Kingpin,
but I think there is a difference between a villain from Daredevil and
Spider-Man that the vast majority of civilians have never heard of and Wonder
Woman, who has been in the public eye on television for nearly forty years
now.  There is a perception of what the character looks like and I think that
is where the problem lies.

I think that depends on who is drawing her. Personally, I don't like a
flat-bottomed WW with outrageous boobs. I think she looks best when
she is full up top without looking like a porn star AND has a curvy
bum. If she is supposed to be the feminine ideal, that would be my
definition. Beyonce is gorgeous and I would looove to have her body,
but (a) She's not a very good actress and (b) she would have to be for
people to get past the fact that WW has always been white.
