I love me some Foundation but question if this adaptation can really work. When Asimov himself went to write a fourth book for the Foundation Trilogy he had to go re-read them as it had been some 3 or 4 decades since he had written them. Asimov made a comment about how there is almost NO ACTION in the books. Zero. Nada. Almost everything happens off screen and the events are simply discussed by the characters in the story. I imagine that this will be a tremendously difficult adaptation between the thousand years of history to cover and the lack of action, plus the fact that the original stories were actually individual short stories from pulp mags that were combined rather than being written as one cohesive story.

I'd imagine the lack of popularity would keep this from being close to what LOTR was. http://sffmedia.com/films/science-fiction-films/257-will-asimovs-foundation-saga-be-lord-of-the-rings-in-space.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
