I can speak for Office Depot on the warranties. They changed the plans
recently and the Accidental Damage and Handling is a lot cheaper than it
used to be. From day one you get the Accidental Damage and Handling, one
time battery replacement and surge coverage. After the year limited
manufacturer's warranty is up Office Depot covers hardware issues, has a
very helpful call center (had to use them myself recently), pays for
shipping and like Best Buy if they can't fix the same problem three times
you get a new laptop.

Now, here's the funny thing. If during the first year you develop hardware
issues and Gateway, Toshiba, HP or Acer won't help you still have the
accidental damage coverage. It's not something we're allowed to out right
tell customers but we can hint that if you break the damn thing you can use
the OD coverage you bought.
