I just realized....we had a new Joss Whedon show premiere Friday night and there has bee no geekly chatter about it. So, did anyone else see Dollhouse?
Our $.04 (Meagen and myself): Upper side of meh, and we were hoping for so much more. It felt too much like Fox meddled with Joss's writing. Very little of Whedonesque humor and a plot where imprinting personalities on blank humans was more plausible than the crime story. The only moment of pure joy was the GRR-ARRGH monster being back on the screen. In our area we can pick up 2 FOX stations; Atlanta and Greenville/ Spartanburg. In Atlanta there was a tiny bit of promotion, but only during the noon news show. In the Carolinas I saw no promotion at all. Zero. For those who did not see the Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse Friday night, there were cut-ins from Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku throughout the night with the basic theme of "hey, pimply faced geeks with no friday night social life! FOX has hot chicks!" With this level of promotion on the Friday night death-slot things bode poorly. For the Browncoats among us this sounds a trifle familiar. Makes me wonder why Whedon went back to FOX. Oh, the ratings sucked, btw. Second-lowest debut for a scripted series this season. http://blogs.indystar.com/geek/2009/02/dollhouse_ratin.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
