The movie comes out it Sep of this year. Anybody heard of it or read the comic
mini-series it was based on?
Looks pretty good. Basically, in the future, people can have androids of
themselves built, surrogates, and the real person stays home wired up to a
chair from where they expereince everything the surrogate does, just like it
was them. This makes them super strong, better looking, and eliminates risk.
You don't die in a car wreck, your surrogate did - if it took enough damage.
Supposedly, if your surrogate 'dies', you don't - until somebody does - dun,
dun, duhhhh....
It's kind of like the Will Smith versionof I, Robot meets the Matrix.
The writer's wikipeida page, Robert Venditti, says he attended UF, and then got
an M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida. Neat.
