I can sum it up in one word: BAD. In so many different ways. It fully deserves the 30% rating it got on Rottentomatoes. The film could have been so much more, and 2/3 of the way through I was wondering why it had been panned. Then the sewage valve opened, and the whole film just drowned in bad writing, bad dialog, bad everything. McG needs to just McStopit. I can't say that I'd lobby against anyone seeing it; the cinematography is good, the special effects are sound, and the first 2/3 of the movie was enjoyable. Unfortunately, it spirals out of control and really can't hold up to the sort of hypercritical analysis I can't resist giving movies.
