I need to completely remove SharePoint from a windows 2003 server. I
mean completely erase it. Not the usual delete the two keys in the
registry for the uninstall and web extensions and delete the 12 folder
and you're good. I mean gone!

I've done the usually stuff from the Microsoft sites and SharePoint
forums sites which provides a command line exe with flags to remove
the local sql db. Then you have to pull registry keys like a sexual
predator pulling female underwear from a neighbor's dresser just so
the server doesn't freak out on you when it notices something
missing.

But I'm done being discreet and I need some heavy fire power here. I
need to empty the drawer. Does anyone know of a sure-fire way to
remove SharePoint WSS 3.0 from a server without rebuilding the entire
OS? There has to be a script that will delete and unregister all the
keys in the registry plus delete all directories. There has to be. I
know some tech guru out there has run into the same problem and wrote
it all up in a bat script somewhere, but heck I can't find it. Hoping
others with different search skill sets than my own might have better
fortune.

I really like SP and it is very powerful. For a small to medium size
operation it's the easiest way to build sites and functionality for
users but HOLY FREAKING COW if you push one little check box or for
crying out loud need to change your mind on the configuration this
product will make you pay and pay dearly.

Any insights or suggestions are most appreciated.
Thanks.
