An English guy wrote a 'sequel' to Catcher in the Rye.  It was published in 
England, but when the publishing company announced plans to distribute it in 
the US, J.D. Salinger (yep, he's still alive!) sued alleging infringment.  A 
judge agreed with Salinger.

The first article is from someone who, though not having read the new 
book, agrees with the judge, or atleast her logic.
