I've always found him eminently lovable. It's been some of the writers involved with him that I've had issues with. And as I mentioned to Michael during our Avengers podcast, I think you could probably take all the "readable" issues of IRON MAN published after the Busiek/Stern run ended and before the Fraction run started, and maybe fill up a single comic bag.
