Thanks for the update. I haven't been reading Iron Man regularly since 2003. I recently read Invincible Iron Man #1 and enjoyed it. Maybe I'll pick up the trade paperbacks someday.

I confess I missed most of the points that Luke made, but I can
definitely see where that kind of thing would be annoying if you were
bothering to pay enough attention to actually catch those things.
Sadly, for me, the hurdle I've asked IRON MAN to jump every month for
the last decade-plus has simply been, "don't put me to sleep," so
those kinds of details just sailed right under my radar.
Shag, your question is a good one but difficult to answer directly.
For the most part, the previous comics continuity simply hasn't come
up, and he hasn't really issued a list of what's now "in" or "out" in
Shellhead's history. And when it does come up, it's all "tainted"
with movie continuity now. So, for example, instead of references to
"StarkTech," we get references to "RT" or "Repulsor Technology"--
something I'd never heard in my life before the first movie.
I'm still astonished that IRON MAN avoided cancellation between the
early Nineties and the first movie-- in fact, I think it was in 2004
or 05 that only four or five issues of IRON MAN came out in the entire
calendar year. So basically this does represent progress-- he needed
help. It's just weird, is all I'm saying. And not really
historically the Marvel way of doing things, unless I'm forgetting
something. It seems more like a classic DC "reboot."
