honestly and without any humor, what WAS the Kin?

I know there was a link in the article where they reviewed it and did nto
like it and they mention it was targeted to the tween, teen, and
twentysomething consumers as a phone so it must have supported apps etc, but
i don't know that i had even heard of this.
