Living out here at the end of the power and phone lines can get expensive during thunderstorm season. Friday night a storm rolled through and we went through our usual routine of unplugging all the pc's. We've lost 3 computers in the last 4 years to lightning and around 5 dsl filters have been fried outside of that. One of them actually blew up and plastic shrapnel hit me in the head.

This time I forgot to unplug the dsl line. It cost me a dsl filter, a dsl modem, a wireless router, the power supply for the router and the surge protector. I think it came in from the dsl line which has been true of most of the strikes in recent years. Do any of you tech geeks know of lightning protection I can put on my dsl line?
