"Better" characters like Power Girl? For real? Wonder Woman is the best female superhero ever. No one else comes close. Black Canary is pretty cool, Zatanna has some appeal, and Stargirl is a fun character, but Diana is the top of the pile.
As far as Jared Palicki, I did not watch Friday Night Lights (I live in South Carolina... I don't need to watch a TV show about the desperate lives of people who's only release from their mediocre lives is high schoolers playing football), so I cannot comment. Given the little synopsis on the page you linked to, she seems to look the part at least.
