Are we going to talk about this? I prefer with SPOILERS. So, if you haven't seen it yet I recommend turning away.
- - - - - - - - - - - - Okay. I loved the season opener. I thought it was fantastic and exciting. I would also be willing to state that this was probably the best Matt Smith episode yet. Seeing the Doctor killed in those first 15 minutes was just plain awesome. My Special Lady and Techie Jr., whom I was watching it with, were, like, "What the hell is going on?". I am paraphrasing but seeing their shock was classic. I, of course, knew that it wasn't the end of Matt Smith but it was still brilliant to see (perhaps for the first time?) the Doctor killed before regeneration and it finally be the end. I'm sorry for those non-River fans on this listserv but I really like that character a lot and I love the mystery of her relationship with the Doctor. It just brings a little something extra to the show. Pond I can do without and Rory is just okay but overall each character played a great role in this episode.
