Dr Jen and i went with some of the St Pete Geeks this weekend.

I would say the movie over all was...just fine, good even. I enjoyed it. I
was entertained by it. I was not blown away by it.

I thought that the movie sort of followed a formula. In Iron Man we saw
Stark in the "Fun-Vee" just as it gets rocketed and then we got some back
story and it brought us "up to date" with that story and we moved forward.
Thor did the same thing. I don't recall The Incredible Hulk doing that...but
i may need to just re-watch it.

Natalie Portman was good. I kind of feel bad for her though, this is another
"blockbuster" movie where she has to have a romantic relationship that just
doesn't pass the smell test. Ok, to be fair it isn't the steaming pile of
dung that the Attack of the Clones "love" development was, but this one just
doesn't get the job done.

Chris Helmswort was a great Thor. Fantastic casting. I might have wanted
a Rx for 'roids to make him even more muscular, but the dude looked the part
and pulled off the character. The character development itself
seemed...rushed. Not to the point of unbelievability, but the pace of his
"change" was quick...likely too quick.

Loki was an interesting character. I didn't like the new origin they have
given Loki, but i liked the way that his character subtly moved things and
shifted things early in the film...truly mischievous! As the story moved on
however, his motivation wained...i suppose they had to finally make him into
a villain. meh.

Got a look at another Avenger, Hawkeye. Um, if this is what Hawkeye is going
to be, he'll be just as boring in the Avengers as he has been in the comics.

Overall i enjoyed the movie! See it again, um, probably not in the theater,
but i will get it on NetFlix for sure!

If anyone out there who reads this and is going to go see it again, or wants
to do the research, i *think* there may have been a small easter egg when
Thor 'snatches" back Jane Foster's notebook, there were papers under the
book that we had a second or 2 to see, that may have been some Avenger
related docs...i really didnt' see and i am just guessing but i would like
to know if anyone else saw what they said.
