Pulp Ark, the new pulp con in Batesville, Ark, this weekend, asked me to write a five-minute script for live/audio performance based on one of my stories. After some consideration, I chose "The Red Flame of Death" from GIDEON CAIN.
For the script, I distilled the three Arab guides into one and focused on him leading Cain to the cave in the desert. They just asked me to play Cain himself. Hmm. That should be interesting. I'll get Ami to video it for YouTube. Maybe. This looks to be a fun little convention. They're basically taking over the whole little town, including the movie theater and town hall (for dealers and artists' alley, etc). They've invited most of the "New Pulps" crowd, including Ron Fortier, Bobby Nash, Barry Reese, Rob Davis, etc etc, and me.
