A new patent from Seagate shows that the company is in the process of creating a wireless hard drive for the Apple iPad.
The new accessory would come with integrate WiFi connection and a battery allowing for a completely wireless storage solution for Apple devices. The new portable hard drive for the iPad will be named the Seagate GoFlex Sattelite. It will work in conjunction with Seagates companion application “GoFlex Media”, in order to give iPad users the ability to stream music and videos directly to their devices. According to the reports, the new Seagate iPad hard drive will support 802.11 WiFi along with a 3.7 volt lithium battery. The portable HD will also come with a USB 3.0 port, allowing users to charge the battery or connection it to an iPad using wires whenever it’s needed.
