I have never been on Facebook, but the few times my wife has asked me to "drive" for a minute while she did something else I found it very clunky. Google, in general, has a streamlined and easy user interface on their products. Groups, for instance, is very easy to use, as is Chrome.
And I am assuming that Google+ ties in with GMail and all of the other Google account goodies so there is that one less level of seperation for users.
