Wow!! I'm blown away by the nominations for the PulpArk Awards this
year. Obviously there are tons of great stories and books and artists
on there.
But I want to particularly single out a couple of things--
1. I am absolutely DELIGHTED to see that my longtime art-partner,
Chris Kohler, finally got his due. He was nominated for Best Interior
Artist for both SENTINELS: STELLARAX and BLACKTHORN: THUNDER ON MARS.
That is fantastic and well-deserved. I'm so happy for Chris.
2. I am also *shocked* to see that BLACKTHORN: THUNDER ON MARS, if
you include my "Best Author" nomination and Danny Wall's "Best New
Author" nom, actually received *seven* nominations:
Best Anthology, Best Short Story ("Bastion of the Black Sorcerer," by
me), Best Cover Art (James Burns), Best Interior Art (Chris Kohler),
Best New Character (John Blackthorn), Best Author (me), Best New
Author (Danny Wall, for his story in BLACKTHORN).
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Awards this year, and
particularly to my "Team Blackthorn," who together produced what I
believe (and apparently others do!) is a really nice book, both to
look at and to read. On behalf of the whole team, THANKS, all!!
