I don't like Serenity being on this list at all, frankly. But you guys probably knew that.
It's a good list but certainly not comprehensive. And I agree there is a lot of potential arguments about the relative ratings of each film. The Matrix is Top 25 but certainly not Top10. Dark City deserves the spot which Matix has. I would put Aliens up ahead of Alien, even though I love them both dearly. The Thing in the Top 10 is a little stretch but Top 15 for sure. I thought Children of Men was very boring. The remake of Star Trek making the list but not Robocop? This may be predictable coming from me, but I do have to point out that not including Gojira (1954) on this list is pretty patently ridiculous when you consider that it launched an entire genre which is still going on today. If you don't want to include Gojira for whatever reason, then it's American counterpart The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms really needs to be considered. I must say (like Ed Brimley) that I liked seeing Metropolis on there. A personal favorite. Some extremely stark imagery in that film, some of which is directly referenced in Dark City. Of course we can also argue that Star Wars is not science fiction but instead space fantasy, but I am not opening that can of worms, yes?
