I know that we have a few fans here on Audio Dramas, primarily of the Doctor Who variety. Anyone else enjoy listening to Old Time Radio dramas? I have been listening to Gunsmoke, which at just shy of half an hour an episode is perfect for my commute. Some of you may remember that I am an Old West fan and those these tales of the violent, untamed West are right up my alley. Those of you who are familiar with the James Arness TV show probably know that Gunsmoke started on radio before moving to TV, and a lot of the early TV scripts were recycled radio scripts. There is a great collection by the Old Time Radio Research group (OTRR) of them available on Archive.org for download. http://archive.org/details/OTRR_Certified_Gunsmoke I also enjoy the classic Dragnet. This dates back to my youth watching Dragnet 1968 (and so forth) on Nick At Nite. Much like Gunsmoke, Dragnet started on the radio before making the transition to television. The OTRR has a collection of Dragnet as well on Archive.org. http://archive.org/details/OTRR_Certified_Dragnet Anyone else enjoy classic radio drama of years past?
