Enron was in DIRE financial straits...that were known only to them. When the general public found out about the issues the damage was done and thousands were left with worthless shares. Corporations can shift and play accounting games to buy time.
I am in NO WAY saying that Apple is doing that, but other, comparable corporations were able to play that shuffle much longer than they should have been able to and they crashed in spectacular form. All i am saying is that no company is too big to fail...except maybe AIG, Citi and the rest of the systemically important financial institutions...and any others the federal government wants to name as a systemically important financial institution.
